Career opportunities
Clinical and Health Psychology is a specialized practice. Clinical and Health psychologists might work in adult clinical psychology, child clinical psychology, health psychology, forensic psychology or clinical neuropsychology. They typically work in hospitals, community-based mental health services, or private practices. With the increase of mental health concerns, young and ageing population in Uganda and an associated increase in chronic health conditions requiring behavioral interventions, the demand for Clinical and Health Psychologists is expected to rise further. Clinical and Health Psychologists, because they have studied the general theory behind human behaviour and behaviour change, can work in a variety of environments and organisations.
