The Certificate in Maternal and Child Health provides the knowledge and skills that will prepare individuals to contribute to community programs and other interventions aimed at improving the health and well-being of vulnerable and underserved women, children, and families. This short course is intended to mitigate the alarming maternal and child mortality rates, it empowers participants with a profound understanding, critical evaluation and skills centered on a primary health care model using strength based approaches to asses, find solutions and tackle the physical and psychosocial health challenges facing mothers and children

Course Objective

The prime goal of the course is to enhance the embracing of a holistic approach to maternal and child health to achieve safe, effective, timely, and efficient maternal and child health care.

Who is eligible for this course?

Individuals with a background in the biological, sociocultural, behavioral, and policy issues that impact the health of the MCH population. The Program is conceptualized with a sensitivity to cultural diversity. Participants will be able to undertake the process of planning and evaluating community programs with a special emphasis on women and children
